For years, Miami and Florida State were considered DBU — Defensive Back University. The likes of Deion Sanders, Ed Reed, Sean Taylor and Leroy Butler, among many others, starred in the NFL after collegiate careers as Hurricanes or Seminoles.
The 2017 NFL Draft class is flush with defensive backs worthy of being selected in the Top 50, with numerous prospects projected to be taken off the board in Round 1. Seven DBs were selected in the first round last April and seven more went in Round 2.
HEROSports.com's Todd Worly projected nine defensive backs in his first Mock Draft and as many as a dozen more could be selected before the end of Round 3.
