Why We Love College Football

Why We Love College Football

A Tradition

The untrained eye may look at college sports and think, why would anyone watch such an amateur league when there are so many professional leagues out there with higher profile players and much more talent and experience. Well believe it or not, college football is often more popular with football fans than the professional counterpart.

This may not make sense to some, but a more seasoned fan knows that college football tradition has a magic to it that cannot be rivaled, even by the power of the professional league. That is why we put together this article of some of the best places to be surrounded by like-minded lovers of college football.

Just a Small Town Fan

Some of the best towns for college football fanaticism don’t necessarily have to be the biggest. Sometimes big things come in little packages, and there are a lot of great college football towns out there that could satisfy even the most avid fan’s itch.

One of the must visit places for college football fans is San Jose, California. While the Spartans are far from a winning franchise, having some of the worst performances out there, they are located on some prime real estate next to Silicon Valley, which means lots of upscale and modern restaurants and sports bars with a fandom that can’t be rivaled. That atmosphere makes it a haven for college football fans.

Room for Wager

Another reason that college ball is so entertaining is it has a much larger element of unpredictability. This is a pretty valuable trait for amateur and professional betters alike. It also makes sports betting bookmakers more valuable, as the more insider information you have, the more likely you can turn a profit. It's also crucial that you only use the most reliable and trustworthy sites and online bookies as it would be a pity to make smart, strategic bets that bring in some nice winnings, only to come out empty because you used the wrong site.

With the right strategy you would be surprised to see how fast a small bet can turn into a big gain, especially if you know the game as well as most college football fans do.

Why It’s Better

Don’t get us wrong, the NFL is a great and entertaining league, but it just cannot measure up to the raw entertainment value of the college league, and that is for many reasons. One advantage college ball has over the professionals is just that, they aren’t professionals. This allows for the perfect climate to create stars. Think of college football like a gravity well in space, it creates just the right chemical and gravitic climate to birth a star, and that is what makes it so exciting.

College football beats out the NFL for many fans because everyone likes the story of a zero turning into a hero. In fact, many fans watch the NFL just so they can keep track of their favorite players that they used to watch tear up and down the gridiron in their college glory days.

The league just offers a perfect atmosphere for some jaw-dropping plays and moves that you see a lot less often in an NFL game, as the players are so well-trained and dialed in that breakaway plays become a kind of rarity. That is why many feel that College ball trumps the NFL every time.
