Every team in the SEC has made at least 200 scholarship offers to 2020 football recruits. It's the only conference to do so.
As of Thursday, Aug. 1, the first day FBS programs can make official offers to 2020 recruits, SEC teams have made, on average, 277 offers (247Sports), by far the most among all FBS conferences. The ACC and Big Ten are tied for second with 246 average offers.
Tennessee ranks second among all programs with 448 offers, and Kentucky ranks fifth with 408 offers (click here for teams who've made the most and fewest offers). The SEC is the only conference with two teams who've made at least 400 offers.
Despite handing out offers like candy, SEC teams are not averaging the most commitments. They're slightly behind the Big Ten in average commits: 17.1 vs. 16.9. And the SEC's commit rate of 6.1 percent ranks sixth, one full percentage point behind both the Big 12 (first at 7.2 percent) and Pac-12 (7.1 percent).
