Hours before James Daniels launched a firestorm of allegations against the Iowa football program, 247Sports was tipped off that something was coming.
"There are too many racial disparities in the Iowa football program," Daniels, a former Iowa offensive lineman tweeted on Wednesday evening. "Black players have been treated unfairly for far too long."

Daniels' tweet was followed by several others from former players, including Amani Hooker, Toren Young, and Marcel Joy, along with other comments through other mediums by former players. The allegations led to an administrative leave for longtime strength coach Chris Doyle, who's under independent investigation for several incidents.
This week on the High Motor podcast, 247Sports' Sean Bock said they "received word" on Wednesday that "something was gonna happen later that night." Bock also explained why he believes Doyle won't resign (and why his son's entrance into the transfer portal doesn't mean Doyle is gone, too) and if this situation is impacting recruiting.
