Clemson Throws Deep … A Lot
Deep, meaning beyond 20 yards in the air. A lot, meaning more than five times in this game.
If shots aren't taken with at least some level of success, Clemson will find themselves in a similar position as Washington in the semifinal; unable to run it consistently and not enough time to drop back consistently. Yes, this makes Clemson a shot fighter, in a way, except Watson can run, which lends an element Washington didn't have.
Either way, Watson will look down the field regularly, primarily to star receiver Mike Williams, who missed all of last season including the championship game, and tight end Jordan Legget over the deep middle.
