After the 2024 regular season, 33 Group of Five teams earned bowl-eligibility. There are sure to be plenty of great games during bowl season.
And that’s not to mention we’ll see a G5 program compete in the College Football Playoff with the field expanding to 12 teams this year.
Here’s a look at HERO Sports’ 2024 bowl projections.
College Football Playoff First-Round Prediction
For my G5 College Football Playoff prediction, I projected Boise State would earn a bye in the first round.
The Broncos are stacked on offense and defense this year. And because the top teams in the Big 12 and ACC faltered, Boise State earned a bye and will play in the CFP quarterfinals.
IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl Prediction
For my Salute to Veterans Bowl prediction, I project South Alabama will defeat Western Michigan.
South Alabama had some impressive wins this season, including a victory over Louisiana during the last month of the regular season. And considering the Jaguars won two of their last three games while Western Michigan had to snap a three-game losing skid to earn bowl-eligibility during the last game of the regular season, I think the Jaguars will find a way to win.
