BR-4 Baylor flirted with national title contention in each of the last two years and is chasing the program’s first title again in 2015, something that would have seemed laughable when Art Briles took over in 2008. Their 13-year bowl-less streak was extended when the former Houston coach guided the Bears to back-to-bad 4-8 records in both 2008 and 2009, leading some to wonder if their run of sub-.500 seasons would ever end.
Six years later, they are one of the most exciting and stable programs in the nation and have transformed the dirt-low expectations when Briles arrived into sky-high ones. Baylor is set to embark on the most important four-game stretch in program history, with the likes BR-2 Oklahoma, BR-6 Oklahoma State, BR-11 TCU and BR-54 Texas standing between them and a place in the College Football Playoff field.
Before they battle the Sooners in the most highly anticipated matchup of the two schools since they first met in 1901 (Side note: They didn’t play again until 1973 and Baylor didn’t defeat Oklahoma until 2011), here is a March of the Bears hype video that will leave college football fans shaking in anticipation for Saturday night:
