Boise State hit the jackpot on Wednesday night when Hank Bachmeier committed to the Broncos.
Bachmeier, a four-star quarterback from Murrieta, Calif., is the eighth-ranked pro-style passer in the 2019 class and picked Boise State over Cal, Georgia, Minnesota and other Power 5 programs.
“I went back and forth between Boise State and Cal every day for awhile,” Bachmeier told 247Sports. “The last few days, I felt things starting to build towards Boise State. It just felt right to me and I decided to go with my gut and I’m very excited to be a Bronco.”
If he remains committed and signs in December or February, the 6-foot-3, 188-pounder would be the highest-ranked quarterback in both program and conference history. He'd be the fifth-ever four-star recruit for Boise State and the second-ever four-star quarterback, joining 2015 recruit and current Broncos' starter Brett Rypien.
“Boise State is a power program that can compete with anyone,” Bachmeier added. “I just saw USA Today has them preseason No. 14 for next year. They open up at Florida State in two years and always play a tough schedule.
