Dana Holgorsen
Current Position: Head Coach – West Virginia
Like Richt, Dana Holgorsen also finds himself on the hot seat. The Mountaineers carry a 3-4 mark in 2015 and are in danger of missing a bowl game for the second time in three seasons after reaching 10 straight from 2002-2011. After posting 10 wins in 2011, the former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator has gone 21-24. His stock has plummeted since 2011 and, once considered to be a can’t-miss candidate for an elite position, Holgorsen might be forced to take a step back into the coordinator ranks, that is unless another program is willing to look past the losses in Morgantown.
There are no strong ties to Georgia, or even the SEC, with all of his FBS experience coming at Oklahoma State, Houston and Texas Tech but he has been adequately successful in recruiting the region and, at 44, could be a long-term solution for a school that, judging by Richt’s 17-plus-year run, would prefer to avoid turnover at all costs.
