Rich Rodriguez is the least under-the-radar man but because his name has spent more time in sentences with Miami, Virginia Tech and others, a jump to Georgia remains low on the chatter priority list. This week, the fourth-year coach dismissed the notion of him being a candidate for job openings but that means nothing. What is the guy supposed to say?
Despite’s this year’s disappointing season, things have gone about as well in Tucson as Arizona fans could have hoped for from the former West Virginia and Michigan head coach. However, increased expectations after last year’s 10-win campaign and Fiesta Bowl appearance combined with an inability to lure elite recruits have made it impossible not to wonder if Rodriguez, in the prime of his career, could jump ship in favor of a significantly more attractive job in Athens.
