The High Point men’s basketball team is heading to the 2025 NCAA Tournament after winning the Big South Conference. In the Big South tournament, it defeated Gardner-Webb 85-64, Radford 76-73, and Winthrop 81-69 in the championship game to clinch the auto-bid.
The Panthers are 29-5 overall this season and on a 14-game winning streak.

In 2025, High Point basketball will make its 1st appearance in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament.

High Point has not won a game in the Division 1 NCAA Tournament. It is 0-1 overall, losing to Purdue in 2025.
High Point Basketball Coach Alan Huss
Alan Huss is in his second season as the High Point head coach. He is the 14th men’s basketball head coach in program history.
In Huss’ first season, the Panthers finished 27-9. Out of 31 rookie head coaches in the country, the 27 wins were the most.
High Point upped that number this year and is 29-5 heading into its first NCAA Tournament.
Huss was an assistant coach at Creighton from 2017-2023. He played college ball at Creighton from 1997-2001. He also had an assistant coaching stint at New Mexico from 2014-17.
