Miami (OH) Basketball NCAA Tournament History

The Miami (OH) men’s basketball team is heading to the 2026 NCAA Tournament as an at-large bid. In the MAC Tourney, the RedHawks exited right away in the quarterfinals, losing 87-83 to No. 8 seed UMass.

The RedHawks are 31-1 overall entering the Big Dance and finished the regular season 31-0.

Miami (OH) NCAA Tournament Appearances

In 2026, Miami (OH) basketball will make its 18th appearance in the Division I NCAA Tournament.

The RedHawks also reached the tourney in 1953, 1955, 1957, 1958, 1966, 1969, 1971, 1973, 1978, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1992, 1995, 1997, 1999, and 2007.

Miami (OH) Basketball NCAA Tournament Wins

Miami (OH) has won seven games in the Division I NCAA Tournament, defeating Pitt in 1958, Notre Dame in 1969, Marquette in 1978, Arizona in 1995, Washington and Utah in 1999, and SMU in the 2026 First Four.

The RedHawks have a 7-20 overall record in the Big Dance after losing to Tennessee in the 2026 First Round.

Miami (OH) Basketball Coach Travis Steele Salary

Travis Steele has a current base salary of $300,000.

He enters his fourth season leading Miami (OH). Last season, Steele led the RedHawks to a school record 25 wins, which was broken again this year.

Before Miami (OH), Steele spent four seasons as the head coach at Xavier, going 70-50 over that span.
