The Wright State men’s basketball team is heading to the 2026 NCAA Tournament after winning the Horizon League. In the Horizon League Tournament, the Raiders defeated Cleveland State 90-61, Northern Kentucky 103-90, and Detroit Mercy 66-63 in the championship game to clinch the auto-bid.
The Raiders are 23-11 heading into the Big Dance and on a 5-game winning streak.
Wright State NCAA Tournament Appearances
In 2026, Wright State basketball will make its 5th appearance in the Division I NCAA Tournament.
The Raiders also reached the tourney in 1993, 2007, 2018, and 2022.

Wright State Basketball NCAA Tournament Wins
Wright State has won one game in the Division I NCAA Tournament, defeating Bryant in the 2022 First Four.
The Raiders have a 1-5 overall record in the Big Dance after losing to Virginia in the 2026 First Round.
Wright State Basketball Coach Clint Sargent
Clint Sargent is in his second season as Wright State’s head coach.
He was named the 10th HC in program history on March 29, 2024. The Raiders went 15-18 in his first season before notching 20+ wins this year. Sargent has been on the Wright State coaching staff since 2016, spending the last three as associate head coach before being named the head man.
Sargent played college ball at South Dakota State, where he was a two-time All-Summit League performer. He played for Scott Nagy. Nagy moved on from SDSU to become the head coach at Wright State in 2016, where he hired Sargent to be a part of his staff.
After Nagy departed Wright State for Southern Illinois, Sargent was elevated to head coach.
