Chad Kelly might've been the last pick in the 2017 NFL Draft but at least he'll get to meet John Elway again.
The Denver Broncos selected the former Ole Miss quarterback with the 253rd pick. Despite throwing for 50 touchdowns and nearly 7,000 yards the last two seasons, the 6-foot-2, 224-pounder slipped down draft boards due to off-the-field and injury concerns.
“Unfortunate events happened, but you can’t control things that happen in the past,” Kelly told Steve Virgen of the Los Angels Times after his selection. “You gotta keep going toward the future. I’m a different person, completely different than I was a couple of years ago. I’m ready to work. I’m ready to lead. I’m going to work extremely hard.”

And he'll be working extremely hard for a man he was just giddy to meet six years ago.
On Dec. 24, 2011, Kelly, a Buffalo native and nephew of Bills' legend Jim Kelly attended the Broncos-Bills game in Buffalo. Minutes after the Bills' blowout win over the Tim Tebow-led Broncos, Kelly, then a high school senior, was fired up that he got to meet Tebow and the man who'd become his boss six years later.
At least i was able to meet John Elway and Tim Tebow!

It's no amusing and risqué dive into the depths of Twitter like people did for Mitchell Trubisky after his second-overall selection, but it's still an amusing side note from a wild draft weekend.
