Baylor
Out: Jim Grobe
In: Matt Rhule
Rhule turned Temple into a force to be reckoned with, especially on defense, and he'll try to do the same with a Baylor defense that gave up 35 points or more 6 times in 2016.

California
Out: Sonny Dykes
In: Justin Wilcox
For all the talent Dykes had at his disposal – including #1 NFL draft pick Jarer Goff – the Bears only went to one bowl game during his four years at Cal due in large part to a horrific defense. Former Wisconsin defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox looks to fix Cal's leaky ship.

Cincinnati
Out: Tommy Tuberville
In: Luke Fickell
Tuberville's departure from Texas Tech to Cincy was always a curious move. He resigned last December after a 4-8 campaign and so enters Ohio State co-defensive coordinator Luke Fickell.

Connecticut
Out: Bob Diaco
In: Randy Edsall
Edsall returns to UConn for his second stint as the Huskies head coach where he went 70-63 over 11 years before an unmemorable 5-year stint at Maryland (22-34 overall with 2 bowl loses).

Florida Atlantic
Out: Charlie Partridge
In: Lane Kiffin
From the Oakland Raiders to Tennessee to USC to Alabama, Lane Kiffin might have been the splashiest hire of the offseason as he looks to get back on-track at Florida Atlantic.

Florida International
Out: Ron Turner/Ron Cooper
In: Butch Davis
Not to be outdone by it's Sun Belt rival, FIU hired a big name of its own in former Miami Hurricanes, Cleveland Browns, and North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Butch Davis.

Fresno State
Out: Tim DeRuyter/Eric Kiesau
In: Jeff Tedford
It's easy to forget how awful California was before Tedford had them consistency in the top 25, and he'll have a similar rebuilding job at a Fresno State squad that went just 1-11 last year.

Georgia State
Out: Trent Miles/Tim Lappano
In: Shawn Elliot
The former South Carolina offensive line coordinator takes over a Panthers' team that went backwards last season (3-9) after going to its first bowl game in 2015.

Houston
Out: Tom Herman
In: Major Applewhite
The former Texas quarterback stays put at Houston where he'd led the offenses' high-powered attack the last two seasons.

Indiana
Out: Kevin Wilson
In: Tom Allen
It's not often you see a coach resign after rebuilding a program and going to two straight bowl games, but that's just what Kevin Wilson did amidst reports that he mistreated his players. Defensive Coordinator Tom Allen shifts over to head coach and tries to calm the recently rough waters.

LSU
Out: Les Miles/Ed Orgeron
In: Ed Orgeron
The former interim head coach at USC and former interim head coach at LSU finally gets his chance to show what he's made of on one of college football's biggest stages. He'll have a lot to live up to considering Les Miles went an astounding 114-34 with the Tigers.

Minnesota
Out: Tracy Claeys
In: P.J. Fleck
After doing the unthinkable in leading Western Michigan to a 13-0 regular season and Cotton Bowl appearance, P.J. Fleck takes over a nine-win Gophers squad looking to finally break through in the Big Ten West.

Nevada
Out: Bill Polian
In: Jay Norvell
The Wolfpack are in the same boat as Fresno State: a former conference power that's fallen on hard times. Norvell comes over from Arizona State to get Nevada back to the promise land.

Oregon
Out: Mark Helfrich
In: Willie Taggert
Taggert turned 2-10 programs at both Western Kentucky and South Florida into winners. He looks to do the same with a Ducks team that missed postseason for the first time since 2004.

Purdue
Out: Darrell Hazell/Gerad Parker
In: Jeff Brohm
Another Western Kentucky connection as Brohm leaves the Hilltoppers after a stellar 30-10 record to lead a Purdue squad that hasn't felt relevant since the days of Drew Brees.

San Jose State
Out: Ron Caragher
In: Brent Brennan
The Spartans just haven't been the same since Mike MacIntyre left for Colorado in 2012 – the year the Spartans finished ranked in the AP Top 25. Brennan comes over from Oregon State and will have to contend with a non-conference schedule featuring 2016 bowl teams USF, Texas, Utah, and BYU.

Temple
Out: Matt Rhule
In: Geoff Collins
With Rhule parlaying his success with the Owls into the head gig at Baylor, Florida defensive coordinator Geoff Collins looks to keep Temple's defense flying around the field.

Texas
Out: Charlie Strong
In: Tom Herman
Strong never finished with a winning record in his three years at Texas, so Herman and his 22-4 record with Houston look to take over one of college football's most historic programs.

South Florida
Out: Willie Taggart
In: Charlie Strong
Taggart to Oregon and Herman to Texas puts Strong at USF to take over a Bulls team that won 11 games last season.

Western Kentucky
Out: Jeff Brohm
In: Mike Sanford, Jr.
Apparently Western Kentucky is the minor leagues for head coaches, but no matter who's been running the show in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the Hilltoppers' offense keeps humming along. Former Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Sanford, Jr. now gets his shot to keep WKU atop Conference USA.

Western Michigan
Out: P.J. Fleck
In: Tim Lester
Fleck rowed his boat to Purdue, leaving Tim Lester to take the reigns after one season as quarterback's coach with the Boilermakers ironically enough.
