Delaware Head Coach Ryan Carty’s Background
Most of Ryan Carty’s coaching career up until this point has been near the East Coast.
Carty spent a decade at New Hampshire, first coaching running backs, then wide receivers, and then was the team’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. During his six years as the Wildcats’ OC, they made the FCS playoffs during each of those years and reached the FCS semifinals in 2013 and 2014.
Carty was then Sam Houston’s offensive coordinator from 2018-21. He helped the Bearkats win an FCS national championship during the spring of 2021. They went a perfect 10-0 and were first in the country in total yards (4,403) and ninth in scoring offense (38 points per game).
Carty, a member of Delaware’s 2003 national championship team, became the Blue Hens’ head coach going into the 2022 season. He helped Delaware win nine or more games in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2003-04.
