No. 95 Roe Wilkins
Rice – DL
Roe Wilkins was one of the few bright spots in a dreadful season for Rice.
He moved from nose tackle to defensive end last spring as the Owls' changed to a 3-4 system and flourished, finishing with 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks.
"He had the power and strength to play the nose last year, he just didn't have the size," then-offensive line coach Frank Okam said last November. "His athleticism is what separates him from some of the others who are true interior linemen. He had enough speed and quickness to make that transition smoothly and easily."
"The thing you really get to see with Roe is a guy who is violent at the point of attack, does a great job shedding blockers and is evolving into a good pass rusher," Okam added. "He's not where I want him to be yet, but he's going to get a whole lot better."
Wilkins, a 6-foot-3, 270-pounder who won't exclusively play end, doesn't get the sack here vs. FIU but watch the push:
