Houston
Opponent: at Cincinnati
Had Houston quarterback Greg Ward Jr. and running Duke Catalon, who both missed their win over Lamar in Week 2 with shoulder and ankle injuries, respectively, not returned to practice this week, the Cougars' would be on heavy upset alert.
Despite their return, Tom Herman's team faces a tricky test at Cincinnati in primetime on Thursday. The Bearcats forced five Purdue turnovers last week, all interceptions, in their 38-20 win. They rank second in the FBS with eight forced turnovers through two games and fifth with plus-five turnover margin.
During last year's 33-30 loss in Houston, they intercepted Ward twice and held the dual-threat quarterback to 161 pasisng yards. If they can contain him on the ground – 119 yards on 16 carries in 2015 – and quarterback Hayden Moore can continue making good decisions, things could stay close in Cincinnati.
