UW-Whitewater defense vs.
Mount Union run game
I would normally put the rushing credit on one player in this category, and Mount Union running back Logan Nemeth is a worth candidate, as he’s rushed for 1,523 yards and 25 touchdowns this year. But the fact is the Purple Raiders have three backs that have over 700 yards rushing this year. If Nemeth gets shut down, they can insert fellow running back Bradley Mitchell, who has 732 rushing yards and nine touchdowns this season, numbers a starting running back would be happy with. And if all else fails, there’s still quarterback Taurice Scott, who has 755 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns. Mount Union has the third-best rushing offense in the nation (318.5 yards per game) and it’s easy to see why. UW-Whitewater does have a stout rush defense (98.1 yards allowed per game) and that crew is going to have to gang tackle early and often to shut down this attack.
