Thomas More is second on the list in terms of effectiveness in the red zone. Through seven games the Saints have been to the red zone 38 times and totaled 34 scores — 16 rushing, 14 passing to go with four completed field goals — for a .895 scoring rate.
The Saints employ a heavy aerial attack and average 300 yards per game through the air compared to 233 yards per game on the ground. QBs Jensen Gebhardt and Brenan Kuntz collectively totaled 2,094 passing yards and 24 TDs. Of the two, Kuntz is the more effective runner with 198 rushing yards and two scores this year, while Gebhardt prefers to remain in the pocket (he has just 36 rushing yards).
Running back CT Tarrant is the lone rusher with more than 300 yards on the ground. To date, he’s accumulated 873 total rushing yards and 10 scores, making him a highly effective red zone threat. Receivers Goose Cohorn and Tyler Vogelpohl are likewise efficient scorers with seven TDs apiece.
