Weber State offensive lineman Iosua Opeta wowed those covering the NFL Combine when he put up 39 reps on the 225-pound bench press.
The 39 reps led all O-linemen in attendance (next best was 34) and is the second most for an OL in NFL Combine records, which have been kept back to 1987. Michigan's David Molk did 41 reps in 2012. Opeta is carrying on a Weber State legacy of sorts, as last year WSU defensive lineman McKay Murphy impressed with 40 reps at his Pro Day.

Opeta, who measured in at 6-foot-4 and 301 pounds yesterday, certainly improved his draft stock with his show of strength.
Projected as a guard, Opeta had the athletic ability to be a two-time FCS All-American at left tackle. On-field drills for the offensive linemen are Friday. If he can couple his power with impressive numbers to show his agility and explosion, Opeta is going to have many more teams looking at him as a potential draft pick.

Four other FCS offensive linemen are at the Combine. Their bench press reps were:
Alabama State's Tytus Howard: 21
Elon's Oli Udoh: 26
Morgan State's Joshua Miles told HERO Sports on Thursday that he is opting to do the bench at his campus Pro Day on March 26, while Villanova's Ethan Greenidge told HERO Sports that he had labrum surgery on Jan. 23 and can't do upper body lifting yet. He will have another chance to lift in front of scouts at Villanova's Pro Day on March 25.
