Seth Henigan, facing a building pressure as his team dealt with a deficit that kept growing, easily could’ve been overwhelmed by the moment. And the Memphis quarterback understandably could’ve thrown to an open receiver just a few yards downfield.
But he knew exactly how to handle the expectations he faced. And he wanted much more than a few yards.
In an AAC matchup last season, Memphis trailed by 19 points against Navy with under seven minutes to go. The play clock dwindled down to two seasons as the Tigers hoped to convert on a third and 10 on Navy’s 36-yard line.
And within two seconds of catching a shotgun snap, Henigan diagnosed the coverage, identified where he wanted to go with the ball, and let it fly. He floated the ball up and over Navy’s secondary and into the hands of wide receiver Marcello Bussey for an easy touchdown.
Henigan is a standout passer, and he very well could be on track for a successful pro career.

Seth Henigan’s NFL Comparison & 2025 NFL Draft Profile
I believe some elements of Seth Henigan’s game are comparable to Daniel Jones.
Henigan isn’t quite as tall as Jones, but they have similar skill sets and he could be better with time to develop.
Henigan has incredible poise, both in the pocket and when on the move. He played in the Senior Bowl, and after some impressive throws during practices, he played in the game during the fourth quarter and led the American Team to a comeback victory with an 85-yard touchdown drive at the end. He threw for 132 yards and a TD on 12-of-14 passing and was named the American Team’s MVP.
Henigan is patient in the pocket, willing to look to his second and third receivers if he has the time. If he doesn’t, he can improvise while on the move. He can throw off-platform, and with a good amount of mobility, he can also buy himself some time for plays to develop downfield.
He has great touch on deep throws. He lofts his passes well and drops them into open areas in a defense with ease. Overall, he’s fantastic when in rhythm.
He throws behind receivers on occasion, and his accuracy has been a concern. But if he can continue to improve on that, as he did during the week of the Senior Bowl, Henigan could prove to be a great addition if he falls to Day 3 in the NFL Draft.
