South Florida wasn’t the most consistent team in the Group of Five, but the Bulls played well enough to reach a bowl game this season.
And now USF (6-6) will take on Syracuse (6-6), a Power Five program which fired its head coach earlier this year, in the Boca Raton Bowl. A win for the Bulls would further cement the notion that head coach Alex Golesh has USF on an upward trajectory going into the offseason.

Syracuse is a -3 college football betting odds favorite against USF, with the Over/Under being 55.5.
The moneyline for Syracuse is -165, while it’s +140 for the Bulls.

The USF-Syracuse matchup in the Boca Raton Bowl will be televised on ESPN.
The Boca Raton Bowl will kick off at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Dec. 21, at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Florida.

USF vs. Syracuse Prediction
I’m picking USF to win and cover the spread at +3. I also am predicting the game will go Under 55.5 total points.
Even in USF’s losses this year, the Bulls have managed to play at a high level. They’ve won three of their last five contests, and the two losses were against Memphis, a 59-50 battle, and UTSA.
I think USF will enter this matchup with confidence. The Bulls are also playing in their home state, so I anticipate they will find success on both sides of the ball in a victory.
