Boise State has never won a national championship at the FBS level. However, the Broncos have won national titles in other divisions.
The Broncos did win a NJCAA national title in 1958 and a Division I-AA national championship in 1980.
Plenty of people believe Boise State should’ve gotten the chance to play for FBS championships as well after undefeated regular seasons. That was before the College Football Playoff began.
Boise State has a chance to finally win that championship at the highest level of the sport this season. The Broncos earned a bye week and will play in the CFP quarterfinals – in the Fiesta Bowl, a game which Boise State has had plenty of success with – at 7:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
