Nothing is more valuable for a quarterback than experience, and Brendon Lewis may be one of the most seasoned quarterbacks in the NFL Draft.
Lewis started for three different schools during his college career. He began his career at Colorado (2020-22), where he started all 12 games in 2021. He transferred to Nevada after the 2022 season and started 22 games for the Wolf Pack over the following two years.
Lewis ended his college career at Memphis, where he posted career highs in passing yards (2,673) and total touchdowns (25) and led the Tigers to an 8-5 record last season.
The 24-year-old started 48 games since 2020. He could turn that experience into a professional career as a late-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Brendon Lewis NFL Draft Projection
I project Lewis will be selected in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers are all likely to be in the market for a quarterback. Don’t be surprised to see the likes of the Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, and Indianapolis Colts taking shots at quarterback on Day 2 or 3 despite their entrenched starters.
Brendon Lewis’ 40 Time & Pro Day Results
Former Memphis quarterback Brendon Lewis ran the 40-yard dash in 4.74 seconds at the Tigers’ Pro Day on March 19. He added a 32-inch vertical leap and a 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump, and he ran the 20-yard shuttle in 4.4 seconds.
Lewis checked in at 6-foot-2 and 216 pounds.
Brendon Lewis’ Stats & Highlights
Lewis played in three different conferences and appeared in 52 games, starting 48 during his college career.
He ended his first full season as a starter at Colorado with 1,540 yards and 10 touchdowns through the air while throwing just three interceptions.
Lewis started 10 games at Nevada in 2023. He had a breakout season in 2024, posting 2,290 yards and 16 touchdowns through the air and added another eight rushing touchdowns. He earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors that year.
Lewis bested those numbers last season at Memphis. On top of his career-high 2,673 passing yards, his 16 touchdown passes tied his career record, he completed a career-high 253 passes, and he scored a career-best nine rushing touchdowns. Lewis also ended the year with a career-high 68.8% completion percentage.
He concluded his college career with 8,003 yards and 44 touchdowns through the air and a 63.4% completion percentage, but his arm is far from his only weapon. Lewis also racked up 2,239 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns on the ground since 2020, including a career-best 775 rushing yards in 2024.
Where Is Brendon Lewis From?
Brendon Lewis is from Dallas, Texas, where he played at Melissa High School and ended his prep career with 12,162 yards of total offense and 151 touchdowns.
He was rated a four-star prospect by ESPN and a three-star recruit by 247Sports and Rivals when he signed with Colorado in late 2019.
Brendon Lewis Draft Profile & Comparison
My NFL comparison for Brendon Lewis is Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota, who was the No. 2 overall pick in 2015. Both can hurt teams with their legs but have the accuracy and IQ to carve up defenses with their arms, too.
With so many snaps on tape, scouts know exactly who Lewis is at this point. He’s a good athlete, but he’s not a game-changer with his legs. He is an accurate passer, but he’s not going to blow anyone away with his arm strength.
Lewis showed impressive growth as a passer at Memphis, and his rushing ability must have turned some heads by now. But his experience is his most attractive trait, and it’s what I believe will get him in the NFL – whether it’s as a draft pick or a free agent.
