I predict Western Michigan will repeat as the MAC champion in 2026.
I know that picking the favorite to win is kind of boring, but with Taylor back at head coach and a strong roster led by dynamic quarterback Broc Lowry, it’s so tough to think anyone else is in a better position to win the league.
But if I had to, Toledo would be my selection. The Rockets went through an offseason coaching change, but I fully expect head coach Mike Jacobs to guide them to more success immediately.
As far as a dark horse, Buffalo could be really interesting. I liked what head coach Pete Lembo did in his first year as the Bulls’ head coach in 2024. While they took a step back in 2025, I think they could be in for a bounceback year.
