Just a couple years ago, the Pac-12 was a conference in turmoil as several teams left for other power leagues. But the conference has finally found its footing while adding several solid Group of Six programs.
One of them, with plenty of history, stands out as the favorite to win the league in the first season of the Pac-12’s new era.

Who’s The Favorite To Win The Pac-12?
Boise State is the college football betting odds favorite to win the Pac-12 title game this season at +120. San Diego State and Texas State are some of the other favorites.
Pac-12 Championship Prediction & Analysis
I predict Boise State will win the Pac-12 in 2026.
Even in a “down” season like last year, the Broncos still ended up winning the Mountain West in 2025. And I don’t think they will have the setbacks that they did last year. With Spencer Danielson at head coach and an experienced quarterback like Maddux Madsen, Boise State is deservingly the clear favorite to win the new-look Pac-12.
I really like Texas State, though. The Bobcats return some elite Group of Six players like quarterback Brad Jackson and wide receiver Beau Sparks, and I think GJ Kinne is the kind of coach who can lead a team to a conference title.
I would also keep Colorado State on the radar. Who knows how things might look in Year 1 of the Jim Mora era, but considering what he did as the head coach at UConn, I don’t think the Rams will be a team people can ignore here.
