Mountain West College Football Predictions & Best Bets, Week 2

The Mountain West was one of the most talented Group of Five conferences last season. That doesn’t appear like it has changed in 2023.

Here’s a look at some of my favorite Mountain West bets for Week 2.

UNLV vs. Michigan Prediction: Over/Under Total Points

For UNLV vs. Michigan in Week 2, I predict the teams will go Under 58.5 points.

Michigan just hosted a Group of Five team, East Carolina, last week. And only 33 points were scored in that contest.

Michigan may win by more than 30 points this week. But I don’t see the Rebels giving up much more than 40 points or scoring much more than 14.

Prediction: Under 58.5

UCF vs. Boise State Prediction: Spread Bet

For UCF vs. Boise State in Week 2, I predict Boise State will cover the spread at +3.5.

Many people, including myself, thought Boise State would cover against Washington. Instead, the Broncos lost 56-19.

But that’s why I think keeping this game close is a strong possibility for Boise State. The Broncos will certainly want to bounce back in their home opener against UCF, and I think they have the talent to cover and maybe even win.

Prediction: Boise State +3.5

UCLA vs. San Diego State Prediction: Over/Under Total Points

For UCLA vs. San Diego State in Week 2, I predict SDSU will cover the spread at +14.5.

UCLA just beat Coastal Carolina by 14 points. However, I think this matchup with San Diego State will be even more competitive with the Aztecs playing at home.

SDSU is 2-0 right now and has talent on both sides of the ball. UCLA may get by with another win, but I think this week’s game could be close as well.

Prediction: SDSU +14.5
