MAC College Football Predictions & Best Bets, Week 2

With teams like Toledo and Ohio, the MAC had the best record in bowl games among any FBS conference in 2022. Those teams are aiming to continue that momentum this season.

Here’s a look at some of my favorite MAC bets for Week 2.

Ball State vs. Georgia Prediction: Over/Under Total Points

For Ball State vs. Georgia in Week 2, I predict the teams will go Over 52.5 points.

I realize Ball State didn’t have the strongest start in a 44-14 loss to Kentucky last week. But I still like the Cardinals’ roster, which is why I think they can score a couple times against Georgia as well.

I don’t think this game will be necessarily close. But Georgia will probably score more than 40 points against Ball State, like Kentucky did, which should be enough for more than 53 total points in this game.

Prediction: Over 52.5

Kent State vs. Arkansas Prediction: Over/Under Total Points

For Kent State vs. Arkansas in Week 2, I predict the teams will go Under 58.5 points.

I expected Kent State to experience some struggles early on, and that was the case in the Golden Flashes’ 56-6 loss at UCF last week.

I don’t think Kent State will score that many more points in this matchup. Arkansas, meanwhile, could lead by 40 points in the third quarter and feel comfortable putting backups in by that point.

Prediction: Under 58.5

Eastern Michigan vs. Minnesota Prediction: Over/Under Total Points

For Eastern Michigan vs. Minnesota in Week 2, I predict the teams will go Under 48 points.

Minnesota gave up just 10 points to Nebraska last week. I’m expecting the Gophers to not allow many more at home against EMU.

I also like the Eagles’ defense, so I don’t think Minnesota will be leading by five touchdowns in the first half. A 35-10 game, with Minnesota winning, seems like a likely outcome to me.
