At this point, it’s almost inarguable that Boise State is the best Group of Five team.
The Broncos are ranked No. 12 both in the Associated Press Top 25 and the College Football Playoff Selection Committee’s rankings. Boise State is also No. 1 in the HERO Sports G5 media poll.
The Broncos have won their last six games, and all but one of those contests – their game at UNLV – was a blowout. Boise State is a well-rounded squad and has one of the best players in the country in Ashton Jeanty.
Will that success continue at home against Nevada this week?

Nevada vs. Boise State Prediction
I predict Boise State will win but Nevada will cover the spread at +24.5. I also project the game will go Over 60.5 total points.
The Broncos have been scoring at a high clip in recent weeks. During their current six-game winning streak, they’ve averaged 46 points per contest. Even if this clash against Nevada ends up being another lopsided victory for Boise State, I expect this game to hit the Over.
But I don’t think this will be a blowout.
Nevada may be 3-7 this season, but in head coach Jeff Choate’s first year with the program, the Wolf Pack have been in plenty of close games that should’ve been blowouts on paper. Nevada only lost to SMU, Georgia Southern, San Jose State, and Fresno State by a touchdown or less. They also beat Oregon State 42-37 earlier in the season.
I don’t know if Nevada will quite be able to overcome the firepower Boise State has, especially on offense. But I could absolutely see this contest being decided by 10 points or less.
