NFL Draft: Mountain West Top Prospects
1. Tory Horton, WR, Colorado State
Horton is arguably the best Mountain West wide receiver, so NFL teams would be wise to consider him as a mid-round pick. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound wideout caught nine passes for 81 yards in CSU’s lone game in 2023 against Washington State and followed that up by catching 16 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown against Colorado in Week 3.
2. Jack Howell, DB, Colorado State
Though he’s a defensive back, Howell is an excellent tackler and brings a lot to the table. He’s tallied 22 tackles through two 2023 games and led all FBS defensive backs with 108 tackles in 2022.
3. Cade Bennett, OL, San Diego State
Bennett was a second-team All-Mountain West selection last year after transferring from Oklahoma State. Playing at left guard, the 6-3, 305-pound junior has allowed just three quarterback pressures in four games. He allowed a mere six pressures and no sacks all of last season.
4. Mohamed Kamara, EDGE, Colorado State
Kamara, a 6-1, 250-pound defensive lineman, was a HERO Sports G5 Preseason All-American after totaling 8.5 sacks and 44 tackles in 2022. He’s added eight tackles and three sacks to start the 2023 season.
5. Mark Redman, TE, San Diego State
Redman has been emerging as a ‘phenomenal tight end’ according to his position coach, Savai’i Eselu. The 6-6, 255-pound senior was an All-Mountain West first-teamer last year after catching 20 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns. He already has 179 yards and two scores on 16 catches through four games in 2023.
