Quinyon Mitchell was projected by some draft experts to be a top-10 pick in this year’s NFL Draft. Some even believed the Toledo cornerback could be the first defensive player off the board.
However, after the first 14 picks were all used on offensive players, Mitchell fell all the way to No. 22 overall. That’s where the Philadelphia Eagles picked him on Thursday evening.
Here’s what that means for Mitchell’s first pro contract.

Quinyon Mitchell’s Contract Details
Mitchell is projected to be able to sign a four-year, $14.8 million contract which is fully guaranteed with the Eagles, according to Spotrac. Mitchell’s deal could include a $7.5 million signing bonus and a fifth-year option for 2028.
There’s a limit for NFL rookie contracts depending on when players are drafted, so there likely won’t be much negotiating needed.
Mitchell was the first Group of Five prospect off the board in this year’s draft and was the first defensive back selected.
