Barry Odom led UNLV to a good number of wins when he was the head coach. The Rebels even reached the Mountain West Championship twice.
But that success led to Odom leaving to become the head coach at Purdue. UNLV then replaced him with former Florida and Mississippi State head coach Dan Mullen, who had spent the previous three seasons as a college football analyst on ESPN.
But Mullen didn’t let the program lose any momentum. The Rebels reached the Mountain West title game again in 2025, and they are one of the favorites to win the conference in 2026.
