App State, Arkansas State, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, JMU, Louisiana, Marshall, Old Dominion, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Texas State, Troy, and ULM comprise the Sun Belt in 2024.
That means there will be 14 teams in the Sun Belt.
JMU, Marshall, Old Dominion, and Southern Miss are the newest members of the conference. Going into 2022, JMU went to the league after years of being an FCS powerhouse, while Marshall, ODU, and Southern Miss left Conference USA to go to the Sun Belt.
In the age of constant conference realignment, who knows if this will be the makeup of the league for long. But if 2023 proved anything, the Sun Belt is one of the top Group of Five conferences as it is currently constructed.
