91: Logan Jessup, DL (Jr.) — Central Arkansas
Jessup is wearing No. 9 in 2022
Jessup was a big recruiting get for UCA in the class of 2018. A two-star recruit and the No. 20 overall prospect in Arkansas, Jessup chose the Bears over offers from Air Force, Army, Louisiana-Monroe, Missouri State, SEMO, and SFA.
After two years of development, he became a key member of the d-line in the fall of 2020. UCA elected to play a full season in the fall and opted out of the 2021 spring season. In eight games, Jessup totaled 37 tackles, 11 TFLs, 6.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound defensive end earned First Team All-Southland Conference honors.
Jessup made a statement to start the 2021 fall season.
In the opener at FBS Arkansas State, who didn’t offer him a scholarship as an in-state high school standout, Jessup had 2.5 TFLs and 1.5 sacks. A week later against FCS playoff team Missouri State, he recorded three TFLs and two sacks.
Jessup’s high production continued for the rest of the year. His power, versatility, and motor led to 60 tackles, 11 TFLs, 5.5 sacks, and five QB hurries in 11 games. He earned All-ASUN First Team honors and was named a HERO Sports Sophomore All-American.
UCA finished 5-6 last season. After making the playoffs in 2016, 2017, and 2019, the Bears look to right the ship and return to the bracket in 2022.
