Two FCS and Missouri Valley Football Conference alums have emerged as top NFL rookies on each side of the ball.
Former Illinois State and current Jacksonville running back James Robinson and former Southern Illinois and current Carolina safety Jeremy Chinn are listed among the top betting favorites to win the NFL Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year awards.
Chinn, who was drafted in the second round, has 87 total tackles, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, five passes defended and two defensive touchdowns.
According to Sports Betting Dime, which tracks odds by taking the average odds from several of the most trusted online sports betting sites, Chinn has the second-best odds to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.

Robinson, who went undrafted, has 890 yards rushing and six touchdowns, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. He also has 36 receptions for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Robinson’s 890 rushing yards are third in the NFL behind Derrick Henry and Dalvin Cook.
He has the sixth-best odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, according to Sports Betting Dime.
