The regular season begins Saturday, Aug. 24 with Samford vs. Youngstown State in the Guardian Credit Union FCS Kickoff along with Villanova playing at Colgate.

49: Solomon Muhammad, LB (Sr.) — Alcorn State
Muhammad emerged as a feared defensive presence back in 2017. In just seven games, he totaled 52 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.
Those numbers increased last year. Muhammad missed a couple more games, but still finished second on the team with 64 tackles. He added four sacks and nine TFLs. Muhammad was named an HBCU All-American and a SWAC All-Conference First Teamer.

The Braves are loaded with talent in 2019 and are ranked No. 21 in our preseason poll. Muhammad is a vital part of a defense that led the FCS in sacks last year with 52.
