2020 FCS Jersey Countdown: 82 — The Best Player Who Wears No. 82 Is Alcorn State’s LeCharles Pringle

Sam Herder by Sam Herder
May 26, 2020

Welcome to the 2020 FCS Jersey Countdown.

Throughout the May-August months, HERO Sports is going to name the best returning FCS player by jersey number, 99-1. Due to rosters being updated at different times for teams across the country and to keep things consistent, jersey numbers are based on the 2019 season.

The full 99-1 countdown/schedule can be found here.

*Note: Jersey numbers are based on 2019 rosters.

82: LeCharles Pringle, WR (Sr.) — Alcorn State

Pringle is getting some much-deserved recognition here after a breakout 2019 season. But he’s still probably feeling a bit snubbed this offseason.

The 6-foot, 185-pounder caught 48 passes for 828 yards and 14 touchdowns. The 14 receiving TDs were the most in the SWAC and tied for the fourth-most in the FCS, but Pringle was not named on any of the All-Conference teams. He also added 112 yards off of eight punt returns.

Pringle had two different three-touchdown performances against Mississippi Valley State and Alabama A&M. He was named the SWAC Championship Offensive MVP with 145 receiving yards and a touchdown.

With Felix Harper, last year’s Conference Offensive Player of the Year, back at quarterback, Pringle is set for a huge season that should come with some postseason accolades.
