Welcome to the 2020 FCS Jersey Countdown.
Throughout the May-August months, HERO Sports is going to name the best returning FCS player by jersey number, 99-1. Due to rosters being updated at different times for teams across the country and to keep things consistent, jersey numbers are based on the 2019 season.
The full 99-1 countdown/schedule can be found here.
*Note: Jersey numbers are based on 2019 rosters.

Jackson had a breakout junior season last year as the Governors made a historic run to the quarterfinals.
Along with All-OVC First Team honors, Jackson was named to six different All-American First Teams.
Jackson has played both nickel corner and locked down the outside corner spot during his collegiate career. Last year, he totaled 47 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, seven interceptions, 10 passes defended, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Two of his interceptions were returned for a touchdown in the same game and Jackson also scored off of a fumble recovery in a different contest.
Jackson finished sixth in voting for the Buck Buchanan Award, given to the top FCS defensive player.
The pro prospect enters 2020 a preseason First Team All-American. In the Aug. 29 season-opener against Central Arkansas, Jackson had seven tackles, 1.5 TFLs, 0.5 sacks and one pass breakup.
