2: Christian Rozeboom, Junior Linebacker — South Dakota State
You can't do much better than winning the Buck Buchanan Award, and that's exactly what our favorite No. 2 might do in 2018.
Redshirt junior linebacker Christian Rozeboom has led the Jackrabbits in tackles for two straight years, amassing 259 tackles in his first two seasons on the job. He finished as runner-up for the Jerry Rice Award in 2016 and garnered All-American praise in 2017, among numerous other awards. Not a bad start to a career.
Heading into the 2018 season, Rozeboom is a consensus preseason All-American. He's the heart of the SDSU defense, which allowed under 24 points per game last season. That defensive unit could be more important than ever this season, with Dallas Goedert and Jake Wieneke now in the NFL.
Keep a close eye on Rozeboom this fall. He could end up being the best player in FCS football.
