The countdown to the 2018 college football season is on. Four FCS teams are in action Aug. 25 as Duquesne takes on UMass, Prairie View faces Rice and North Carolina A&T and Jacksonville State square off in ESPN’s FCS Kickoff.

28: Wes Sutton, senior defensive back- Northern Arizona
Few players made a one-year jump like Wes Sutton did between his sophomore and junior seasons.
Sutton, who registered nine tackles as a true freshman in 2014, looked like a complementary piece in the defensive backfield early in his career. He earned his first five starts in 2015, notching a few pass breakups. He earned another four to start the season in 2016 before going down with a season-ending injury.
Then, last season, everything changed. Sutton came back like a man possessed, posting a 70-tackle season when he'd never previously gone north of 15. Sutton had two double-digit tackle games and ended the season with eight TFL's, three PBU's and two picks. He was an obvious all-conference selection, making the First Team alongside Sacramento State's Mister Harriel.
Watching Sutton flip the switch coming out of a lost season was cool. Watching him in 2018 could be even better.
