It didn't take long for Chris Streveler to continue carving up defenses on the football field. After his senior year at South Dakota in which Streveler finished second in voting for the Walter Payton Award (the FCS version of the Heisman), the quarterback is showing his dual-threat abilities in the Canadian Football League.
Streveler was named the 2017 Missouri Valley Football Conference offensive player of the year while setting league single-season records in passing yards (4,134) and total yards (4,854). He threw for 32 touchdowns and ran for 11 more. Streveler decided to sign with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as his best option to see the field.
The decision turned out to be a good one. After last season's starter Matt Nichols went down with a preseason injury, Streveler won the job over former FCS Coastal Carolina quarterback Alex Ross.
The Blue Bombers are off to a 1-1 start and have scored 86 points.

It doesn't appear he's lost his speed either, running for 128 yards and a score on 17 carries.

Streveler looks to be an ideal fit for the CFL style of play. Whether this gives him a better shot in the NFL or is the start of a solid career in Canada, Streveler has proven he can play in the pros. Nichols is expected to miss the first 4-6 weeks of the season. But when he's back, it's going to be hard to keep Streveler off the field.
He just keeps on making plays.
The #Bombers keep piling it on, hopefully you took Chris Streveler in #CFLFantasy ????#CFLGameday pic.twitter.com/QouEIMb3pm
