Samford and Kennesaw State will square off in the first round of the FCS Playoffs, and the matchup is one of only two first-round games that will feature teams who played each other already this season (Elon-Furman the other). Samford pulled off the victory in the first meeting, and it remains Kennesaw's only loss of the season. It was ages ago — back in August. Samford won 28-23.
Kennesaw finished a perfect 5-0 in Big South play, and an impressive 10-1 overall. Samford went 8-3 on the season and finished second in the SoCon, trailing only Wofford. Samford has losses to Western Carolina, Chattanooga and FBS Georgia on the season.
