UC Davis has quickly become a Top 10 FCS team thanks to head coach Dan Hawkins and his coaching staff igniting energy into the program. From 5-6 in 2017 to 10-3 this year with a close loss to Eastern Washington in the national quarterfinals, the Aggies have risen rapidly.
And don't expect this to be a one-hit wonder or lightning in a bottle. The staff has killed it in recruiting and right now has a top 2019 class in the Big Sky Conference.
In our Big Sky prospect rankings, UC Davis has seven in the Top 30 and five in the Top 15.

In a talent-rich area, the Aggies are getting in-state recruits with several FBS offers, some including Oregon State, San Diego, Nevada and Utah State. All seven ranked players are from California.
Wide receiver Blake Thorpe is UC Davis' top commitment and he ranks as the No. 4 prospect in the Big Sky.
UC Davis established itself as a top team in its conference in 2018 with a 7-1 record. Expect that success to continue with the level of recruits coming in.
