FCS RECRUITING: Big Sky Conference Rankings

HERO Sports will take you conference-by-conference with FCS recruiting, and let you know who has the class to be coveted.

Today (Feb. 6), we rank the Big Sky Conference.

Today's ranking (below) takes into account only high school recruits (NOTE: JUCOs and other transfers will be evaluated later this spring) who have committed to FCS schools. Further updates will continue through national signing day. How do we rank? We pay more attention to the scholarship offers an athlete received than any kind of star rating from a recruiting service. If an FCS recruit holds 17 offers and 6 are of the FBS variety? That will rank him above a recruit who holds three — we let the colleges do the evaluations of film, they're the ones who get paid well to do that. Full final rankings will be released for teams and prospects on Monday, Feb. 11 at 12 p.m. ET[divider]

RECRUITING SCHEDULE: Conf. by Conf. – And The Grand Finale[divider]

BMAC'S BIG SKY TAKE:

(as of Feb. 6)

RK FCS SCHOOL CONF. SIGNEES
1 Northern Arizona BIG SKY 24
2 Portland State BIG SKY 25
3 Eastern Washington BIG SKY 25
4 Idaho BIG SKY 24
5 Montana State BIG SKY 32
6 UC Davis BIG SKY 15
7 Southern Utah BIG SKY 32

THE WINNER?: Northern Arizona was on fire in the final weeks before national signing day. There are several stellar recruiting classes in the Big Sky, so this is truly saying something.

THE UPSTARTS?: Beyond the usual powers, who else has done well? With two weeks to go, pencil in Portland State, Idaho and Northern Colorado. UNC crushed it in the December signing period and PSU and Idaho have been crushing it in January, with the Vandals dipping down south for talent.[divider]
