There's been a lot of talk in the Dakotas about where South Dakota State is going to land in the FCS playoff seeds, assuming the Jackrabbits beat rival South Dakota on Saturday, which they're 20-point favorites to do so.
North Dakota State and SDSU have faced off in the quarterfinals or second round three times: 2012, 2014, 2016. If the pattern continues, these rivals may meet up again this year with NDSU looking like a No. 1 seed lock and the Jacks maybe falling in the 4-5 range.
But some fans are under the impression the two teams will automatically be put on opposite sides of the bracket no matter what. The playoff committee does have the ability to adjust seeds to avoid conference rematches. But that's not always going to happen.
On this week's podcast, we talk about how NDSU and SDSU could meet up before Frisco, Texas (40:30).
