Will Hunter, QB — North Greenville
NGU plays a SAC schedule even though they aren't official members, and Hunter was very successful against some of the best in the league last year to the tune of 3,035 passing yards and 23 scores. In his second season as a starter, the redshirt-junior should be even more adept with his offense and produce more prolific numbers. NGU was a great team in 2016, getting to the playoffs. Advancing farther may see their QB garner national attention.

Antonio Wimbush, RB — Carson-Newman
After piling the most rushing yards for a freshman for CNU two years ago, Wimbush nearly doubled his production to 941 yards and 9 scores. If that pattern stays true, the projections for Wimbush could be nearly 2,000 yards and 18 scores. While that might be difficult to do in normal systems, CNU runs a veer-option that emphasizes running and Wimbush looks to be the lead horse in the stable entering the season.

Lawrence Pittman, RB — Wingate
At one point a national touchdown leader, Pittman fell off in the back half of the season due to injuries but still finished with 15 trips to the end zone and 786 yards. With Blake Hayes gone and longer splitting carries with Pittman, the 6-0, 225 pound back will be the bell cow for the Bulldogs and should easily top 1,000 yards and get his touchdowns as he normally does.
