NFL DRAFT HIGHLIGHTS: Poona Ford, DT — Texas

The 2018 NFL Draft is coming at us quickly now that we have witnessed yet another thrilling national championship. The yearly extravaganza will take place in Arlington, Texas, from Thursday, April 26 to Saturday, April 28 this year.

Over the span of three days, a whole host of former college football stars will find new homes where they will hopefully impress during the offseason and make a living playing on Sundays.

COMPARE: Poona Ford (2017) vs. Vita Vea (2017)

This video from Texas Football features Texas DT Poona Ford. Ford is a player that many will view as a nose tackle in the NFL. In 2017 he picked up 34 tackles, eight tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks and a forced fumble. As a junior in 2016, he picked up 2.5 sacks. Ford is not going to be judged on the number of times he gets to the quarterback. Instead, teams will focus on his ability to eat up blockers and open lanes for his linebackers to make plays. After not being invited to the combine, Ford will need a big Pro Day in Austin.
