Iowa State Coach Paul Rhoads Delivers Spectacular Quote on TCU

Paul Rhoads is fully aware it will take a monster performance from his BR-74 Iowa State  team to take down BR-3 TCU this weekend in what would be one of the most shocking upsets of the season. The Cyclone head coach will lead his 2-3 squad against the undefeated (6-0) Horned Frogs, a team that has scored 50 or more points in all but one game this season.

His defense will be tasked with containing Heisman candidate Trevone Boykin, a man with over 2,500 total yards and 25 total touchdowns this season, and explosive running back Aaron Green, who averages 6.4 yards per carry. The Cyclones are 17-point underdogs at home and although Rhoads will be shooting to not only cover that three-score spread, he also hopes to emerge victorious, albeit by a slim margin:

Paul Rhoads on TCU: “I don’t think we’ll blow them out.”

Hey, everyone is always asking for coaches to tell the truth, right?

He delivered the amusing quote during his Monday press conference, one that featured him also referencing a “fast start” four million times. We’re not ready to declare this an easy victory for TCU, based on their leaky defensive performances in three of their last four games, but we’re also not ready to disagree with the seventh-year head coach.
