With numbers that are somewhat pedestrian in today's pass-happy college game, Troy Smith threw for 2,542 yards and 30 touchdowns to rout Darren McFadden in the Heisman race. Smith would take home 801 first place votes to McFadden's 45 while leading the Buckeyes to a national title game appearance.
The most interesting aspect of the 2006 Heisman race? Calvin Johnson of Georgia Tech came in tenth and received only one first place vote.
